Children Love to Sing

Join a group of like minded parents who want the highest quality of group vocal and music education for their child.

Sit back and relax and have a break while your child gets the best group vocal coaching.

Increases Those Endorphins

Singing increases those happy and feel good chemicals in the body to relieve stress and anxiety. A happy child is a much more creative and imaginative child.

Their Own Way to Express Themselves

Self expression through singing allows a child to put in practice who they are as an individual. This builds confidence in themselves. A confident child experiences life through much more positive eyes.

Singing is a Self-regulation Skill

A child who can self regulate their behaviour, emotions, and practice self control has less anxiety, is a higher functioning child, and is able to practice a greater level of discipline.

Building Capable Children

A child who can self-regulate along with discipline are key traits that separate the successful from those children who fall short of their capabilities. All children are capable given the right nurturing and coaching. These skills are necessary when required for focus on important schoolwork, sport, or other academic and thinking tasks.

Key Benefits of the Vocal Group Program

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL ACHIEVE

Group vocal classes are great way to develop your child’s social skills and experience confidence in a supporting and team environment.

VOCAL EDUCATION

  • Your child will learn how to improve the feedback loop between the sound they produce when singing, the sound their brain hears, and the message the brain sends to self correct.
  • Learning how to listen to themselves singing and self correction is key. It is the number 1 issue with every student we have, and the most critical.
  • Familiarise children the idea of transposition and how and why it is applied, and use it as a tool to increase their listening and singing agility.
  • Perfect pitch ear training using dynamic pitch matching games to challenge and entertain children while serving a critical purpose in learning of pitch matching. Only children under the age of 6 are able to develop Perfect Pitch.
  • Show children what NOT to do, and what to do instead so they do not damage their voice.
  • Set up a strong vocal warmup foundation to develop perfect pitch.
  • Immerse your child in an environment with an inspirational role model to inspire in piano, singing, and creation of music with Peter Teodorescu providing live piano accompaniment. Not only is he one of the most versatile pianists (he learns a song by ear by hearing it a few times), his incredibly strong composition background means he dynamically creates music spontaneously.
  • Your child will experience what is possible singing in different styles – how their favourite music can be played in different styles, different keys, and different arrangements (on the spot!)
  • Install correct vocal habits in your child to avoid the common habit of adults adding the same vocal subtleties as professional singers. This results in the singer ending up on an inaccurate pitch because they do not have the trained ear at this stage that helps their brain process that they are wrong.
  • Certain musical abilities have to be gained early in a child’s life for the learning to be effortless in later years

CONFIDENCE & SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT

  • Confidence building and perseverance – teaching children not to give up after a one or a few sessions because they make mistakes. It is ok to make mistakes. Professional artists make mistakes. We identify it, fix it, and move on. This repeated process builds confidence in their own ability to understand the process of learning.
  • Increase your child’s attention span and memory.
  • Promote independent learning and individual creativity when on their own.
  • Singing can be a vulnerable activity for some children. Once a child understands they can sing and has learnt how to use their voice, they will no longer want to hide in a choir, or feel vulnerable.
  • Develop confidence in a group peer environment with children of the similar age level.
  • Have a greater awareness of their own voice amongst other children who are learning and have different voices
  • Introduce your child to vocal coaching as an alternative to learning and playing an instrument. Many children who do not enjoy playing an instrument, or who could not focus on learning music theory immediately focus and thrive when the activity changed to singing. Especially with ADHD or Autistic children – who are some of the most incredibly talented and fast learning when provided with vocal training.
