The skills learnt also translate to all other areas of learning due to the impact music (complex music) has on the brain and the child’s development.

The research is worldwide that has shown that children exposed to quality music and music instruction have accelerated brain development in the areas responsible for the development of language. They have increased reading skills, learning experiences which fine tune their ear, and enhanced speech perception.

Key Benefits of the ALTM Program

Group lessons are great to develop your child’s social skills and work in a team environment.

  • Providing a higher level of music that has much more complex arrangements that forces your child to think and try and find patterns in the music
  • Increase the ability of your child to process information
  • Introduces your child to a great variety of new skills and activities which assist in self-regulation of your child, especially children with Autism or ADHD.
  • Increase your child’s attention span and memory
  • Prevent your child from switching off mentally
  • Create a strong feedback loop between the teacher and child
  • Prevent children being ‘lost’ in a group or ‘hide’ behind other group members by breaking children into groups, and introducing individual activities
  • Provide an environment where your child experiences up close, the live music played (in simple and complex form) of songs they already know
  • Set up a strong musical foundation to develop perfect pitch
  • Teach the children as fast as they can take in the information based on their abilities and consolidate their skills, so they can start learning an instrument or other musical activity in the future
  • Set up a benchmark in your child’s mind so when they listen to mainstream children music, it sounds simple and easier to pick up
  • Promote independent learning and individual creativity
  • Develop confidence in a group peer environment with children of the same age level
